From 1 January 2010, some elective surgery procedures will no longer be routinely performed in Tasmanian public hospitals. These include a range of body contouring, breast, facial and skin and subcutaneous tissue procedures and some urological, gynaecological and vascular procedures.
This is consistent with the approach of other Australian states.
Information for General Practitioners on procedures not funded to be routinely performed in Tasmanian public hospitals have been developed, to view these Guidelines Click Here.
