North West Tasmania Division of General Practice Inc., trading as; General Practice North West (GPNW), is one of 108 divisions nationally largely funded by the Commonwealth Government Department of Health and Ageing to deliver regional health outcomes. General Practice North West was incorporated in 1993, and covers an area of 22,500 square km from Smithton and King Island in the North, to Strahan on the West Coast. GPNW is governed by a Board, which currently consists of five (5) Directors elected from the membership as well as one (1) appointed (non-GP) Director. The Board is responsible for the setting of strategic direction of GPNW and for the governance of the organisation. |
