Overview:

General Practice North West provides support for GPs and practice staff in all areas of immunisation through practice visits, phone support, resource provision and continuing professional development activities. GPNW offers GPs and practice staff assistance with data cleansing, cold chain management and information provision. Many resources have been developed to assist general practice with the implementation of a quality immunisation service that achieves consistently high coverage rates in the region.

GPNW works in conjunction with Tasmanian General Practice Networks within the state and nationally for best practice standards to continue to achieve high standards in immunisation.

The following services are provided to the General Practices:

  • Orientation for new GP’s, Practice Nurses and Practice Managers in Immunisation Schedule and Data Management.
  • Cold chain management - Data logging of vaccine fridges
  • Assistance with Recall/Reminder System and Letters
  • Provision of information in relation to immunisation issues
  • Assistance with ACIR online and Medicare Secure Site access
  • Education Events and Training Sessions
